Green Beagle Lodge Training Academy

Programs to enrich, educate, and improve man’s relationships with his dog.

Why Train Your Dog?

Training is one of the best ways to strengthen the bond you have with your dog.

A dog’s behavioral problems can lead to their endangerment, their owner’s frustration and anger, and an inability to successfully interact with other people and dogs. Proper training will not only make both of your lives easier, it will make you both happier.

Working together with one of our certified trainers, you can learn not only how to achieve obedience from your dog, but also to better understand your dog. Training hinges upon confidence, persistence, and clear communication. Our classes will help you, as your dog’s guardian, to shape their behavior and bring out the best in them. A well-trained dog has fewer limitations or restrictions because they can be trusted around children, strangers, other dogs, and personal property.

Your participation in our training academy will provide you with the tools you need to properly reinforce or discourage certain behaviors. Not only will you leave our program with a well-trained, happy dog, but the trust you nurture through the training process will lead to a closer bond between the two of you.

At the Lodge, we offer several different options for training:

Group Class, Private Training, In-Suite Training, or Canine Sports

The most economical choice, our trainers take six weeks to work with you and your dog as well as time to troubleshoot any questions or problems that arise. Group class is also beneficial for many dogs because of the social contact and exposure they get to outside distractions. Each class lasts 1 hour.

Pricing | $150.00, weekly classes at the Lodge for 6 weeks, same time/day each week.

Take place either at the Lodge, your home, or a public space and can be scheduled for daytime or evenings. Private training is especially beneficial if your dog has specific issues with certain places, people or objects. Private classes may be necessary if your dog is too fearful or aggressive for  group classes or if your schedule is too inconsistent to meet every week for 6 weeks.

Pricing | $100.00/hr, (Package discounts for six private lessons or more)

Individual work with your dog while they are at the Lodge for boarding or daycare. This option allows our staff to do most of the work teaching your dog to behave. It is very important to couple this training with at least one Private lesson (at least ½ hour) to make sure you understand how to support your dog’s new manners.

  • Nose Work – This fun and easy sport teaches your dog how to use its nose to find and earn a reward. As your dog learns how to ‘play the game’, we add more scent variety and introduce distractions to further improve focus. You and your dog work in the ring one team at a time, allowing your dog to learn with minimal distractions. Three levels available; competition is optimal.

Puppy Beginner Obedience – Puppy Beginner is the first step for a well-behaved furry family member! During our Puppy Beginner Obedience course we will be teaching and practicing the following:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Take it

Basic Beginner Obedience

  • Class starts May 06, 2019 at 6:30pm (Mondays)

Basic Beginner Obedience – Basic Beginner is for the dog that is starting out with no prior training experience or for the dog who needs a refresher course. This class introduces students to the foundations of training and communication with their dog. Beginner obedience is very dependent on the humans who live and interact with the dog on a regular basis, so the learning in this level is just as much for us two-legged family members as it is for our dogs. Dog participants must be current on their Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper-Parvo vaccinations.

During our Basic Beginner Obedience course we will be teaching and practicing the following:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Take it

  • Come when called
