Training at Green Beagle Lodge

Personalized, foundation-first dog training at our Chapel Hill pet resort.

Our Training Philosophy

At Green Beagle Lodge, great training starts with a strong foundation.

Our approach focuses on the whole dog. Instead of chasing individual behavior problems one at a time, we build reliable obedience and clear communication between you and your dog. When dogs understand structure and expectations, many everyday challenges naturally begin to improve.

Our programs strengthen the core commands that shape daily life together, like heel, sit, come, down, and stay. These skills give dogs and their people the confidence to handle real-world situations with ease.

Lifetime Support

Every Green Beagle Lodge training program is all-inclusive and backed by ongoing lifetime lessons. As your dog grows and life changes, our trainers are always here to help you keep building on your progress together. Training with us isn’t a one-time service, it’s a lasting partnership built on trust, communication, and a strong foundation.

About Our Trainers

Experienced trainers, a proven approach.

Our trainers are dedicated to helping dogs and their families build lasting success through clear communication and strong foundational obedience. Each trainer develops their skills through hands-on mentorship, working directly alongside experienced handlers with dogs of every breed, size, and temperament.

Our team includes AKC Certified Evaluators, and that real-world experience helps our trainers read each dog, understand temperament, and tailor training to the individual dog in front of them.

Our Training Programs

Play & Train

Structured training during the day, home with you at night.

Play & Train is our daily program that builds strong obedience while your dog enjoys structured training, exercise, and play throughout the day, then heads home with you each evening.

Our trainers work on the foundational skills that make everyday life easier, helping with challenges like pulling on leash, jumping, and barking. Training length and pricing vary by dog, and we’re happy to walk you through the recommended timeline after your free evaluation.

Board & Train

Focused training in a structured environment.

In our Board & Train program, your dog stays with us for an immersive training experience with personalized care, exercise, and daily training sessions.

Our trainers work closely with your dog to build strong obedience and address more complex behaviors in a consistent, supportive environment. The extended stay lets our team create meaningful progress while keeping training engaging and positive.

Puppy Training

Build a strong foundation early.

Puppies are always learning, which makes early training the perfect chance to build great habits from the start. Our puppy programs create a strong foundation through positive guidance, structure, and clear communication.

Training is tailored to your puppy’s personality, energy, and stage of development. By the end, your puppy will have the skills and confidence to grow into a well-mannered companion.

Meet Your Trainer

Tara Angeletti

Tara has been a crucial part of our team at Chapel Hill since February of 2020, where she fell in love with dog handling at a young age. She originally joined our boarding team as an entry-level assistant and has worked her way through learning many facets of our company.

Tara began shadowing our certified trainers as they taught group classes and conducted private lessons until she started assisting with these services. Tara has proven a natural talent and true passion for overcoming behavioral challenges and encouraging dogs to unlock their full potential. She spent several years as part of our Daycare program where she led shifts and learned to teach countless new team members the art of handling dogs.

Tara has since become certified in teaching AKC classes to further her ambitions in professional dog handling and training. She has helped us develop many of our programs and services to fit the Green Beagle Lodge standard of personalized luxury, including our Enrichment program, which has given many dogs that didn’t fit our traditional Daycare model an outlet to be successful.

Outside of Green Beagle, Tara enjoys spending time with her three big shepherds: Duke, Koa, and Vortex. She enjoys being outdoors and taking long, off-leash hikes with her trio.
